Department of Agro-Socioeconomics

The Department of Agro-Socioeconomics departs with its own vision, to adhere as a center of excellence with strong scientific thinking, the capacity to conduct research, and professional skills in agricultural economics and agribusiness.

1. To prepare students for entry into professional life with a high degree of ability in the science and technology of Agriculture;
2. To develop and advance science applied to education, research and community service;
3. To develop science and technology in the area of agriculture for national development;
4. To undertake the learning of the education, research and development of the science and technology of Agriculture to solve the current problems in this area;
5. Monitoring the state of the environment and its relationship with agriculture so as to sustainable and ecological;
6. To guarantee and support science and technology in the field of Food Security;
7. Promote science and technology in the area of self-sufficiency in national agro-industry and agro-trade;
8. To form the human person with respect for God, for the fatherland, for the family, for the Near and for the Environment.

The purpose of this program is to produce and promote graduate who are well-grounded is Social Economic of Agriculture and technical knowledge in agribusiness, to have ability in linking farmers to markets, promotion of the local agriculture product, having the ability in farm management, good managerial skills, social services, etc. The graduates will be able to meet markets demand of Timorese society based on their skills in particular in the area or Agribusiness, commercialization and marketing.

The Programs aims at:

1. To produce qualified graduates that compete and meet national, regional and global market demand
2. To produce graduates with self-employment skills
3. To produce capable graduates that can continue to the higher-level education
